Dimpleplasty is a minor cosmetic surgery that creates dimples on the cheeks for people who don’t have them naturally or want more defined ones. The procedure is usually done under local anesthesia in about 20–30 minutes. A small incision is made inside the mouth, and a suture is placed to connect the skin with the underlying cheek muscle. When the person smiles, the skin is pulled inward, forming a dimple. Since the incision is inside the mouth, there is no visible external scar.
Recovery is typically quick: mild swelling, soreness, or bruising may last for a few days, but most people can return to normal activities the same day or within 1–2 days. At first, the dimples may appear even without smiling, but as healing progresses, they usually become visible only during smiling or certain facial movements. Risks are generally low but can include infection, asymmetry, scarring inside the mouth, or dimples fading over time.
The best point about dimpleplasty is that it offers a simple, relatively low-risk way to achieve permanent dimples with minimal downtime, giving the face a more youthful and attractive look.
